Sweet. Bright. Naturally Balanced.
This is the third time Unlocked Coffee partners with Mexican farmers in a row! Discover the character of Chiapas, Mexico in this beautifully balanced washed coffee from GRAPOS Cooperative, a community of thousands of smallholder producers cultivating coffee in the mountainous Soconusco region.
In the cup, expect a smooth sweetness reminiscent of brown sugar, complemented by delicate almond notes and the refreshing brightness of fresh citrus. A lively tart acidity gives the coffee structure, while its candy-like sweetness creates a clean and satisfying finish.
GRAPOS—Grupo de Asesores de Producción Orgánica y Sustentable—was founded in 2007 with just 90 farmers and has grown to more than 2,700 member producers across several microregions of Chiapas. The cooperative supports its members through access to financing, technical assistance, and community development programs.
Located near the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, these coffees are grown at elevations ranging from 900 to 1,600 meters above sea level and are produced by predominantly smallholder farmers. GRAPOS is both Fair Trade and Organic certified, reflecting its commitment to sustainable farming and stronger opportunities for coffee-growing communities.
