A Coffee Born From Passion, Innovation & Dedication

Dedication is a remarkable expression of Costa Rican specialty coffee from Las Lajas Micromill, produced by third-generation coffee growers Oscar and Francisca Chacón in Costa Rica's Central Valley.

For the Chacón family, coffee is more than a tradition—it is a lifelong commitment. In 2005, they became part of Costa Rica's emerging micromill movement, investing in their own processing equipment so they could have greater control over the quality and value of their coffee. Their experimentation eventually led to some of the family's most distinctive coffees and innovative processing techniques.

An Extraordinary Process

Dedication is produced using Alma Negra, a unique natural process developed by Oscar and Francisca at Las Lajas.

Carefully selected, fully ripe coffee cherries are first dried on raised beds and then moved into a greenhouse, where they are spread during the day to absorb the warmth of the sun and gathered into piles at night. This carefully controlled drying process takes approximately 20–30 days, allowing the fruit character and sweetness to develop slowly.

The result is an expressive and vibrant coffee with remarkable fruit character and depth, this is why we named this coffee Dedication.

The cup opens with rich cranberry and juicy fruit sweetness, followed by comforting notes of toffee and spice. Its distinctive boozy acidity adds intensity and complexity, while fresh watermelon brings a surprising, refreshing character to the finish.

It represents the dedication of the farmers who nurture their coffee year after year, the courage to experiment with new processing techniques, and the patience required to transform carefully selected cherries into something truly extraordinary.
