In 2005, they became part of Costa Rica's emerging micromill movement, investing in their own processing equipment so they could have greater control over the quality and value of their coffee. Their experimentation eventually led to some of the family's most distinctive coffees and innovative processing techniques.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eAn Extraordinary Process\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDedication is produced using \u003cstrong\u003eAlma Negra\u003c\/strong\u003e, a unique natural process developed by Oscar and Francisca at Las Lajas.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCarefully selected, fully ripe coffee cherries are first dried on raised beds and then moved into a greenhouse, where they are spread during the day to absorb the warmth of the sun and gathered into piles at night.
